Nicole and Michael live in Boston, and they decided to get married in Michael's hometown of Atlanta. Both their ceremony and reception took place at the Piedmont Garden Tent on a day that threatened rain until (seriously) it started pouring when the bride and groom kissed. Y'all, this day was so filled with moments that it was hard for me to choose which photos to include here. Pictured below are a first look where the bride ran to her groom, vows shared between the couple privately, Nicole giving shoutouts to friends and family (and Michael's PhD advisor) as she walked down the aisle, and Nicole hugging her wedding cake because she LOVES sprinkles. This woman wears her emotions on the outside, and I love it. (Although from that list it might sound like she stole the show, Michael's huge grins and cool calm made my day over and over, too, in a subtler way.)
When I talked with Nicole for the first time last summer, she shared something that I hope holds true in the photographs that follow. She told me something like this: “We noticed that a lot of photographers have beautiful pictures from weddings, but they're pretty pictures in which you could interchange people and it wouldn’t make a difference. But the people in your photos couldn't be exchanged for anyone else. I was looking at your pictures, and all the people in them made me happy even though I don't know them.” So, I hope these pictures make you happy even if you don't know this amazing pair.
