I photographed Chelsey and Jeff's engagement session on the quad at The University of Alabama during the week of spring break. One of my favorite memories as a student at UA was coming back to campus after spring break and seeing that *suddenly* everything looked so colorful! That definitely held true for our session. These two are getting married this weekend in New Orleans, so I thought it would be nice to share their engagement session during their wedding week!!
Emily and Hunter decided they wanted to have an Oak Mountain State Park engagement session to precede their destination wedding in North Carolina this summer. After what seems like weeks of dreary, cold days, we were greeted by sunny skies and perfect hiking weather for our visit to Peavine Falls. It was a perfect break to celebrate their engagement and to make some memories.
Last time I was in New Orleans, I had the pleasure of photographing my good friends Madeline and Robert down the street from their house in the Marigny. The setting sun and vibrant NOLA style graced us with incredible color that complements this couple's vivacious energy. Today is their anniversary, so happy anniversary y'all!
One day a while back, I was having a beer at Trim Tab and thinking how absolutely perfect the light from the setting sun looked through a thin veil of haze. I sent out text messages to friends: "The light is perfect but we have to act fast! Who can I take a photo of?"
Dom came to the rescue, and ended up being dressed, to my delight, to perfectly match the setting. I've been playing around with different films lately, and these images are either taken on 35mm Fuji Velvia 100F or digitals edited using the Velvia 100F preset from VSCO. Can you tell which is which?
